His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of Sharjah University, witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Sharjah University and the Sharjah Center for Aviation Sciences Training on Monday morning. This strategic agreement is designed to foster collaboration between the academic capabilities of the university and the practical expertise of the aviation training center.

Strategic Objectives of the MoU

The MoU was signed by Sheikh Khalid bin Issam Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of the Sharjah Center for Aviation Sciences Training, alongside Dr. Issam Al-Ajmi, Director of Sharjah University. The primary goal of this agreement is to create a synergy that leverages both the university’s academic knowledge and the operational experience of the center in the aviation sector. Together, the two entities will work to develop innovative academic programs by designing and delivering joint curriculums in aviation management.

Innovative Educational Programs

As part of the MoU, several accredited training courses provided by the center, including the “Air Traffic Control” program, will be integrated into the university’s curriculum. This strategic partnership aims to cultivate a progressive educational environment by sharing the latest technological laboratories, such as advanced simulation labs and air traffic control simulators, ensuring students receive high-precision practical training that meets international industry standards.

Employment Opportunities and Career Development

The collaboration will also open avenues for training and employment for students and graduates by establishing a direct bridge to the job market. This includes prioritizing job opportunities, joint employment fairs, and mentorship and qualification programs. The MoU envisions creating accredited practical training programs for students at the center’s facilities and Sharjah International Airport.

Research and Innovation in Aviation

Moreover, the agreement emphasizes enhancing scientific research and innovation focused on addressing current and future challenges in the aviation industry. Both parties will embark on practical research projects in areas such as aviation safety, sustainability, air traffic management, and applications of artificial intelligence.

This partnership will also nurture talent and support professional development by launching scholarship programs and sponsorships from the center for outstanding students. Continuous professional development programs for faculty and students of Sharjah University and center staff will further aim to enhance the exchange of expertise and keep pace with the latest technological advancements.

Additionally, the MoU will establish a sustainable network of experts and alumni by creating interactive platforms that connect university graduates working in the aviation sector with industry experts. The initiative will also host conferences, seminars, and leadership dialogues to ensure ongoing communication and knowledge exchange, thereby supporting continuous professional growth.
