The Hidden Enemy: A Student Initiative to Raise Awareness About the Dangers of Drugs
In a significant step reflecting the role of youth in addressing societal challenges, students from Emirates National Schools have launched an awareness project titled “The Hidden Enemy.” This initiative aims to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs and their negative impacts on health and individual behavior, as well as the threat they pose to community stability and the future of individuals. Through this initiative, the importance of prevention and combating this scourge, which directly affects society, is highlighted.
Goals and Themes of the Initiative
The “Hidden Enemy” project focuses on educating students about the importance of preventing the risks of drugs by shedding light on the harm they inflict on individuals and society. These harms include the destruction of physical and mental health, loss of focus, and deterioration of family and social relationships. It is also associated with increased crime rates and the threat to the future of youth, underscoring the necessity of protecting individuals as a foundation for building a strong nation and sustainable community.
The Value of Awareness and Community Participation
The students showcased inspiring values and sayings from the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul. Sheikh Zayed was well-known for emphasizing the importance of protecting the community from this scourge and supporting awareness and prevention initiatives. This initiative, “The Hidden Enemy,” aims to instill values of social responsibility and community involvement in addressing the problem of drugs.
Students’ Contribution to the Project
The “Hidden Enemy” project was executed by a group of young volunteers who demonstrated their awareness and concern for community issues: Ahmad Jassim Al Ghalaf Al Naimi, Ali Hamad Hashil Bin Majran Al Zaabi, Hazza Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi, Dhiab Rashid Abdullah Al Naimi, and Musbah Obaid Musbah Al Gafli. This project is a model that highlights the role of youth in enhancing national identity and safeguarding the community from impending dangers, including drugs.
The “Hidden Enemy” initiative embodies the spirit of community interaction and emphasizes that ongoing awareness efforts and active participation are a protective shield against drugs and their negative effects.
