Training in Diplomatic Protocol and Etiquette
The Government Relations Department of Sharjah, in collaboration with the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy, recently held a specialised training course titled “Diplomatic Protocol and Etiquette”. This event took place on the 3rd and 4th of August at the House of Wisdom and saw participation from leaders and officials representing 13 governmental and semi-governmental entities across the Emirate of Sharjah.
Continuing Education Initiative
This training session is part of an ongoing educational programme initiated by the Government Relations Department in partnership with the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy in 2026. The aim is to foster best practices in diplomatic protocol and etiquette.
Distinguished Participation
The course attracted a distinguished roster of government leaders, including several directors from various authorities, departments, and key officials from the Sharjah Media Authority, Bee’ah, the Sharjah Arts Foundation, the Sharjah Family and Community Council, Sharjah Police, and the Department of Government Relations.
The Importance of Personal Skills
Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, head of the Government Relations Department in Sharjah and chair of the High Economic Integration Committee in the Emirate, highlighted the evolving significance of personal skills within institutional capabilities. He stated, “Personal skills today extend the abilities of institutions, as they shape the perception left with their partners and directly reflect on the quality of communication, the level of trust, and opportunities for collaboration. Mastery of protocol and etiquette, awareness of cultural differences, and effective management of official meetings are all elements that enhance an institution’s presence and pave the way for stronger relationships and more effective, sustainable partnerships.”
He further emphasised, “Our cooperation with the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy stems from a vision that believes excellence in official representation is an institutional skill built through ongoing training and development.”
