In a significant move to enhance the road infrastructure in Sharjah, the Roads and Transport Authority has initiated a major development project on the circular road in Khorfakkan, spanning 5.8 kilometres. This project is part of a broader strategy aimed at improving the emirate’s road networks to meet the increasing demands of urbanisation and population growth. By expanding and upgrading the road, the initiative seeks to elevate the quality of services for road users, ultimately contributing to a better overall quality of life.
New Lanes to Alleviate Traffic
The project includes the introduction of a third lane along the road, which is expected to significantly boost capacity and improve traffic flow, particularly during peak hours. This enhancement is anticipated to reduce congestion and facilitate smoother movement between various areas. Additionally, dedicated acceleration and deceleration lanes have been constructed at the road’s entry and exit points, ensuring safer vehicle transitions and enhancing traffic safety by effectively managing vehicle ingress and egress.
