In Sharjah, the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation has embarked on an initiative aimed at enhancing the skills and responsibilities of young individuals within families through its project “Sands of Home”. This summer, the foundation successfully conducted a series of practical workshops that benefited 130 young men and women registered with the organisation. The primary objective of these workshops is to foster an understanding of their familial and social roles, enabling them to develop the necessary capabilities to lead and shoulder responsibilities effectively, thereby contributing to stable family environments.
Empowering Youth Through “Sands of Home”
The “Sands of Home” project represents a significant pathway within the empowerment framework adopted by the foundation. According to Nawal Al Hamadi, the Director of Social Prosperity, the initiative is grounded in the belief that nurturing young individuals to be more aware of themselves and their roles within both the family and the community is crucial. The project’s concepts and practical workshops aim to equip participants with vital skills that enhance self-confidence, decision-making abilities, and responsibility-taking, enabling them to navigate various life situations with awareness and balance.
