Sharjah Social Services Enhances Collaboration with Quran Complex

الشارقة 24:

The Department of Social Services in Sharjah recently welcomed a delegation from the Sharjah Quran Academy to explore the department’s various services, initiatives, and community programmes. This visit aimed to enhance collaboration between the two entities, fostering a stronger partnership and expanding areas for joint efforts within the community.

Exploring Volunteer Opportunities and Community Engagement

During the meeting, the two parties discussed potential avenues for cooperation, particularly focusing on volunteering and promoting community involvement. They deliberated on launching two distinct volunteer opportunities: the first targeting employees of the Quran Academy to encourage their participation in structured volunteer activities offered by the Sharjah Centre for Voluntary Work. The second opportunity would engage community members in spreading awareness about the culture of volunteering and highlighting the significance of community participation.

Future Collaborative Visits and Programme Examinations

The delegation from the Quran Academy expressed interest in organising future visits to various care homes and centres under the Department’s auspices. These visits would allow them to gain first-hand insight into the services provided to beneficiaries and observe the diverse programmes and activities offered by the Department. Similarly, they also considered arranging reciprocal visits for the Department’s staff to the Quran Academy to better understand its facilities, programmes, and activities, thus broadening the scope for collaboration and exchange of expertise between the two parties.

Overview of Social Services Offered

Additionally, the Department presented an informative overview of its service system, programmes, and initiatives designed for various community groups. This presentation enabled the visiting delegation to grasp the operational areas of the Department and the methodologies employed in delivering its services, alongside several significant social initiatives currently in practice.

A Commitment to Institutional Integration and Community Support

Fatima Mousa Al Blooshi, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Voluntary Work Award and Director of the Department’s Experts and Consultants Office, emphasised that enhancing cooperation among institutions is vital for exchanging expertise and familiarising each other with available services and initiatives. This collaborative spirit paves the way for more integrated partnerships that ultimately benefit the community.

Al Blooshi remarked that the visit from the Quran Academy aligns with the Department’s commitment to fostering communication with various organisations in the Emirate of Sharjah. It serves to showcase the social services provided and explore cooperation areas that can add value to the community, particularly in the realm of volunteering. This sector is crucial for enhancing community participation and leveraging the capabilities of individuals and organisations alike.

In conclusion, the discussions regarding potential volunteer opportunities for both the Academy’s employees and community members reflect the emphasis on creating structured avenues for diverse groups to engage in community initiatives. Al Blooshi reaffirmed that institutional cooperation is instrumental in broadening participation and maximising the contributions of various organisations in serving the community, while also opening new channels for social and volunteer collaboration.
