Islamic Affairs in Sharjah Allocates 698 Mosques for Eid al-Adha Prayers

In a significant undertaking to celebrate Eid al-Adha, the Islamic Affairs Department in Sharjah has announced the allocation of 698 mosques across the emirate for the prayers. This initiative aims to create a spiritually uplifting environment that allows worshippers to perform their rituals with serenity and devotion.

Preparation for Eid al-Adha Prayers

The Islamic Affairs Department has completed comprehensive preparations for welcoming the large crowds expected for Eid al-Adha prayers. Through meticulous planning, they have ensured that all 698 mosques are well-equipped, featuring thorough cleanliness measures, preventive maintenance, and upgraded sound systems. This careful preparation aims to accommodate the significant number of worshippers and their families, providing a spiritually enriching and secure setting for prayer.

Coordination with Local Authorities

To streamline the prayer process, the department has coordinated with various government agencies within the emirate. This collaborative effort focuses on optimizing the logistical arrangements for worshippers, ensuring their safety and comfort during the Eid celebrations. By doing so, the department emphasizes its commitment to providing a well-organized experience for all attendees.

Multilingual Services for Diverse Communities

Recognizing the multicultural nature of the community, the Islamic Affairs Department has designated over 90 mosques to deliver the Eid sermon in multiple languages. Services will be available in Urdu, Malayalam, Tamil, and English, ensuring inclusivity for non-Arabic speakers. This initiative signifies the department’s dedication to addressing the diverse needs of all community members.

Eid Prayer Timings and Awareness Programs

Eid al-Adha prayers will commence at varying times across different regions: in Sharjah City and the Al Hamriyah area at 5:45 AM; in the city of Al Dhaid and Al Bataih at 5:44 AM; and in the Al Madam and Mleiha regions at 5:45 AM. In the eastern region, prayers will begin at 5:42 AM. Additionally, the department continues to roll out its educational and outreach program throughout the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, which encompasses lectures, discussions, and activities on the virtues of these blessed days, the rules and conditions for sacrifice, as well as the rituals and etiquette associated with Eid, thereby enhancing religious awareness within the community.

The Islamic Affairs Department urges worshippers to arrive early to their chosen mosque for Eid prayers and invokes blessings for the United Arab Emirates, its leadership, citizens, and residents, wishing for continued security, safety, and stability. In light of this festive occasion, the department extends its warmest greetings and best wishes to the leadership and the people of the UAE, as well as to the broader Arab and Islamic communities, praying that this auspicious occasion brings peace and blessings to all.
