Sharjah Celebrates Change Makers and Impactful Content Creators

The Sharjah Government Communication Award is set to welcome submissions until 22 September, with the introduction of two new categories: Best Media Content and Change Makers in Digital Content. These additions aim to celebrate individuals and entities that have successfully harnessed media and digital platforms to raise awareness of societal issues and facilitate positive change.

Encouraging Participation in Media Innovation

The award, organised by the Sharjah Government Media Office, invites both agencies and content creators who excel at using media and digital channels to disseminate knowledge. This year marks the thirteenth edition of the award, and it has been expanded to include the new categories aimed specifically at acknowledging impactful experiences in the fields of media communication and digital content.

According to Tarek Saeed Allai, Director General of the Sharjah Government Media Office, the initiative continues to highlight experiences that combine quality content, clear messaging, innovative presentation methods, and measurable impact. He emphasised the importance of elevating media practices and encouraging the production of content that better reflects public interests and community priorities.

The addition of the Change Makers category reflects the rapid transformations within the content industry and the expanding influence of digital platforms. It acknowledges individual experiences that effectively utilise these platforms to promote knowledge, reinforce positive values, and build digital communities founded on dialogue and active participation.

Acknowledging Excellence in Media Content

The Best Media Content category seeks submissions from local, regional, and international governmental entities, as well as organisations and private sector institutions that have produced outstanding media work as part of a campaign, initiative, or programme aimed at enhancing public awareness of significant issues and encouraging engagement.

On the other hand, the Change Makers in Digital Content category focuses on individuals who have effectively leveraged digital platforms and social media to spread knowledge, establish positive values, and address developmental and societal issues through innovative and creative means, melding quality with impactful messaging.

With the closing date for submissions approaching, participants are encouraged to put forth their best efforts, showcasing their contributions to the evolving landscape of media communication.
