Visitors to the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair are in for a treat this year, as they can enjoy a generous 35% discount on books and publications from participating exhibitors. This initiative marks the 35th edition of the fair, which is taking place at the ADNEC Abu Dhabi from 13 to 18 September.
Celebrating 35 Years of Literary Excellence
The announcement of this discount came during a recent meeting involving Saeed Hamdan Al Tunaiji, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Centre for the Arabic Language and Director of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, alongside various participating publishers. The meeting was also attended by Mohammed Rashad, President of the Arab Publishers Union, and Rashid Al Kous, Executive Director of the Emirates Publishers Association.
Enhancing Accessibility to Knowledge
This discount is part of the ongoing efforts by the Abu Dhabi Centre for the Arabic Language to enhance the presence of books in daily life, expand access to knowledge, and foster a culture of reading and book ownership. Visitors will easily benefit from the discount through a digital payment system employed at the fair, available throughout the event.
A Broader Role for the Fair
Saeed Hamdan Al Tunaiji expressed that this initiative reflects the strategic vision underlying the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair. He noted that the fair’s role extends beyond merely gathering publishers, authors, and readers; it serves as a platform to deepen the relationship with books, support the publishing industry, and make cultural and educational content accessible to a wider audience.
International Participation
This year’s edition features exhibitors from 95 countries, with seven nations participating for the first time. The theme, “Let’s Turn the Page and Read the World,” commemorates three and a half decades of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair’s contribution to the cultural landscape.
Encouraging Book Acquisition
The discount initiative allows visitors a broader opportunity to acquire books and publications that resonate with their interests. This practical approach adds a tangible element to the celebration of the fair’s 35th anniversary, placing books at the heart of the festivities as vital tools for knowledge dissemination and cultural dialogue.
