The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai, in collaboration with the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ), has launched the Dubai Mobility Laboratories in Dubai Silicon Oasis. This initiative introduces the region’s most advanced testing ground for autonomous and future mobility technologies, designed to enhance the city’s transportation solutions.
An Advanced Testing Framework
The Dubai Mobility Laboratories will feature dedicated testing tracks alongside a versatile area that creates a controlled environment. This setup effectively simulates a wide range of traffic scenarios, allowing for comprehensive testing. Additionally, the laboratories will extend testing on real public roads, connecting Dubai Silicon Oasis and Al Qudra, providing a realistic assessment of various mobility technologies.
Robust Testing Scenarios
The labs will facilitate testing across 248 different scenarios, both in controlled settings and on public roads. This extensive range of simulation ensures that technologies can be accurately evaluated, validated for readiness, and accelerated from developmental stages to active deployment in urban settings.
Through this strategic initiative, Dubai aims to lead the charge in autonomous vehicle testing and to pave the way for smarter, safer transportation solutions in the Middle East.
