Ras Al Khaimah Airport Unveils Exclusive Terminal for Luxury Travelers

In a significant development aimed at enhancing Ras Al Khaimah‘s status as a global tourism and entertainment destination, Ras Al Khaimah International Airport has announced plans to construct a dedicated building for VIP aircraft. This move underscores the airport’s ambition to serve as a primary gateway for distinguished travelers to the northern Emirates while supporting the region’s aspirations in aviation and tourism.

The new building will solidify the airport’s position as a main gateway for VIPs to the northern Emirates.

Salem bin Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi stated, “The development of these world-class facilities marks a significant milestone in Ras Al Khaimah’s journey to establish itself as a global destination.”

The airport boasts a strategic location that is only a four-hour flight from one-third of the world’s population, making it an ideal gateway for welcoming VIPs from various countries. On November 24, 2025, Ras Al Khaimah International Airport announced its plans to develop a dedicated VIP building and private aircraft hangars in partnership with Falcon Executive Aviation, a subsidiary of Alex Group Investment, during its participation in the Dubai Airshow 2025. This initiative aims to enhance the Emirate’s journey toward becoming a global hub for tourism and entertainment, positioning the airport as a primary gateway for VIPs and travelers to the northern Emirates.

This announcement follows the signing of an agreement between Ras Al Khaimah International Airport and Falcon Executive Aviation to develop and operate a new fixed ground services facility, which is a key project within the Emirate’s strategy for growth in the aviation and tourism sectors.

Architectural Details and New Functions

The new facility will feature a luxurious building spanning 1,500 square meters, a multifunctional hangar covering 8,000 square meters, and 9,000 square meters allocated for aircraft parking and preparation. The project benefits from a strategically important location, just 15 minutes away from Ras Al Khaimah’s leading beach resorts and the upcoming integrated resort “Wynn Marjan Island,” enhancing the Emirate’s ability to attract high-profile travelers and private aviation clients.

Sheikh Engineer Salem bin Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority and Board Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, remarked, “The development of this project represents an important milestone in Ras Al Khaimah’s journey to establish itself as a global destination; it enhances the aviation infrastructure in the Emirate and increases its capacity to welcome VIP visitors, investors, and partners from around the world. It also reflects our ambition to expand our international presence and ensure that the first impressions of visitors to Ras Al Khaimah are a true reflection of the quality, excellence, and hospitality for which the Emirate is renowned.”

Sustainability and Advanced Technology

He added, “The importance of this project lies in its vital role in supporting sustainable growth in the tourism sector. By integrating advanced technologies, adopting environmentally responsible design principles, and supporting future mobility solutions, we are establishing a comprehensive system aligned with long-term development goals. As we continue to diversify our economy and strengthen our position on the global stage, this project serves as a strategic investment that supports the prosperity and resilience of Ras Al Khaimah.”

For his part, Sultan Rashid Abdullah Rashid Al Shani, Founder and Chairman of Alex Group Investment, said, “The expansion of Alex Group Investment in Ras Al Khaimah represents a pivotal step in our long-term vision to elevate private aviation services across the UAE. This building has been designed to keep pace with the growing ambitions in the northern Emirates, blending luxury with operational efficiency and adhering to advanced sustainability standards.”

Luxury Services for Travelers

The VIP building will feature a royal lounge and four dedicated lounges for distinguished guests, along with upscale hospitality spaces, all within an environment thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of high-profile travelers seeking privacy and distinction.

The surrounding air infrastructure will meet the latest requirements for private aviation, providing ample aircraft parking, a helicopter landing pad, and areas designated for future vertical mobility solutions. The facility will comply with the highest global standards in the aviation industry, combining Falcon’s exceptional experience with a high level of privacy, efficiency, and personalized services. The hangar complex is designed to accommodate a wide range of private aircraft, including long-range jets, with maintenance and operational services provided to the highest global standards.

Sustainability is a cornerstone of the project, with the building and hangars designed to meet the highest sustainability standards to achieve a gold-level LEED certification. Plans include generating 35% of the facility’s energy needs through solar power, using fully electric ground equipment, and enabling the use of sustainable aviation fuel, all contributing to achieving net-zero operational emissions.

This investment represents a qualitative enhancement of the aviation infrastructure in Ras Al Khaimah, with an expected positive economic impact for the Emirate, which is just a four-hour flight from one-third of the world’s population. Construction is scheduled to commence within the next fifteen months, with the facility expected to open in the first quarter of 2027.
