UAE proptech startup PRYPCO has made headlines by securing significant funding from General Catalyst, marking a pivotal moment for real estate innovation in the region. This investment not only underscores the growing interest in property technology but also highlights General Catalyst’s commitment to expanding into the Middle East’s dynamic PropTech landscape. As PRYPCO continues to revolutionize the way people engage with real estate, this funding is expected to propel further advancements in their platform and services.
General Catalyst’s First Commitment in Middle Eastern PropTech
PRYPCO, the UAE-based property technology platform, has successfully secured funding from General Catalyst in a Pre-Series A round led by the venture capital firm. This investment is particularly noteworthy, as it represents General Catalyst’s first foray into the Middle Eastern PropTech market.
A Comprehensive Real Estate Ecosystem
Founded in 2022 by Amira Sajwani, PRYPCO operates within an ecosystem that addresses various facets of real estate investment, financing, and ownership. Since its launch, the company has facilitated nearly AED 10 billion in mortgages and has played a crucial role in assisting over 3,000 individuals in obtaining UAE Golden Visas.
The platform has attracted more than 50,000 users who have collectively invested nearly AED 20 million across 21 properties through PRYPCO Blocks, its innovative fractional ownership platform. This model allows users to purchase shares in properties rather than investing in entire units, making real estate more accessible.
Pioneering Tokenized Property Investment
Additionally, PRYPCO has introduced PRYPCO Mint, the first tokenized property investment platform in the region. This initiative has drawn nearly 2,000 investors, who have put over AED 16 million into the platform. Uniquely, PRYPCO collaborates with the Dubai Land Department, making it the first global partnership of its kind to tokenize title deeds.
The company exemplifies its commitment to growth by supporting over 60,000 agents across the UAE through more than 300 secondary projects. It also operates a data hub with insights on 1,500 projects, generating income from mortgage and Golden Visa referrals.
A Vision for the Future of Real Estate
“We’re building the future of real estate, where property ownership is no longer limited by capital, geography, or bureaucracy. General Catalyst backing us at this stage is a major milestone; it validates the urgency of what we’re solving and reinforces our role in leading this shift globally,” stated Amira Sajwani, Founder & CEO of PRYPCO.
Neeraj Arora, Managing Director at General Catalyst, added, “We are excited to partner with Amira and PRYPCO’s team in their mission to democratize real estate investments in one of the world’s most dynamic and prominent property markets. With their deep networks and roots in the region, unique insights into the ecosystem, and palpable passion, we believe this team is well placed to build the future of real estate investments in the Middle East.”
PRYPCO has reported that properties on its platform have sold out within minutes, attracting a diverse range of investors from around the globe. The company plans to utilize the new capital to further expand its offerings, enhance regulatory collaborations, and continue scaling operations. With this funding round, PRYPCO solidifies its position as a category leader in MENA PropTech as Dubai and the broader region advance initiatives aimed at digital assets and property innovation.
