The Director General of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Hala Badri, expressed her pride in the authority winning the “Innovation for Impact” award in the smart cities category during the “AI for Good Summit.” She emphasized that this achievement “represents a confirmation of our commitment to adopting future technologies for the preservation and promotion of our heritage.” By harnessing artificial intelligence, the authority is able to protect the past and enhance Dubai’s cultural presence on the international stage.
The Saruq Al-Hadid Project: A Model of Innovation
“Dubai Culture” received the award for its efforts in the “AI-Enhanced Survey and Exploration Project at the Saruq Al-Hadid Archaeological Site,” developed in collaboration with Khalifa University of Science and Technology. This project illustrates how technologies such as remote sensing and smart applications can be used in archaeological excavation, having contributed to the discovery of over 2,500 culturally significant artifacts.
