A New Homegrown Restaurant Has Opened in Dubai, and It’s All About Bringing People Together
Dubai’s latest culinary gem, PEOPLE, embodies a commitment to community and connection, making it a distinctive addition to the city’s vibrant restaurant scene. Developed by the team behind GOAT Burger, PEOPLE is not simply a dining establishment; it’s a gathering place where friends, families, and communities come together to enjoy food and foster connections.
A Restaurant Built Around People
Co-founders Maryam Alobeidli, Shehab AlHarmoodi, and Sultan Kayed envisioned a welcoming space for everyone. Their passion is reflected in the diverse front-of-house team, which speaks 12 different languages, underscoring Dubai’s rich international tapestry.
“PEOPLE is about connection, between strangers, families, and communities,” states Co-founder Sultan Kayed, emphasizing the restaurant’s core ethos.

Guided by Executive Chef Sameer Bhalekar, who brings 16 years of experience from top-tier establishments across New York, London, Barcelona, the Middle East, and India, the menu features an enticing blend of Italian, Asian, and Emirati cuisines. Each dish is crafted to encourage sharing and conversation among guests.

A Space Designed to Connect
The interior design by BONE Studio draws inspiration from the traditional Majlis, featuring a sunken U-shaped seating area that is ideal for sharing experiences and meals with others.
With a capacity to seat 100 guests, the restaurant’s décor blends bold hues, rich textures, and ample natural light. Notable features include:

This design fosters a cozy, inviting atmosphere where dining feels like being at home while offering a unique and engaging experience.
Soft Opening and Official Launch
Currently in a soft opening phase, PEOPLE serves:
- Coffee & desserts: 10am to 5pm
- Full menu: 5pm to 12am
The official inauguration of this new homegrown restaurant in Dubai is set for Monday, 1 September 2025.
