Dubai Residents Mark Significant Milestone in Homeownership Journey

The “First Property Ownership” program in Dubai represents a significant step towards empowering citizens and residents to transition from renting to owning, contributing to enhanced family and financial stability. Since the program’s launch, over 2,000 individuals have secured their homes, reflecting Dubai’s commitment to providing a comprehensive residential environment. This initiative highlights the emirate’s efforts to facilitate property ownership and promote sustainable demand.

Program Overview

The “First Property Ownership” program aims to enhance Dubai’s position as an attractive destination for property ownership, with residential sales exceeding 3.25 billion dirhams over the past six months. Launched in July 2025 by the Dubai Land Department and the Department of Economy and Tourism, the program empowers residents of all nationalities to purchase homes, benefiting from a range of specially designed privileges.

Market Response

According to program data, over 41,000 individuals have expressed interest in registration, indicating a strong desire for ownership. Notably, 49% of new buyers are residents who have lived in Dubai for more than five years without owning a previous home, showcasing the program’s potential to transform long-term residency into actual ownership.

Impact on the Community

The program also helps enhance community cohesion and economic stability, aligning with the goals of Dubai’s D33 economic agenda. Hadi Badri, the Executive Director of the Dubai Economic Development Corporation, stated that “the widespread interest in the First Property Ownership program reflects Dubai’s visionary approach to developing innovative housing policies.”

Success Stories

Many beneficiaries have shared their experiences, with Fatima Al-Mari stating, “Owning a home was a distant dream, and with this program, the process of ownership has become clearer and more realistic.” Jade Lee also emphasized that “the transition from temporary stability to a permanent commitment to a new home in Dubai has been remarkable thanks to the program.” These experiences illustrate the program’s significant impact on individuals and the community as a whole.

With the anticipated joining of more real estate developers, it is expected that the options for beneficiaries of the “First Property Ownership” program will expand, contributing to the development of a more inclusive and sustainable real estate market, further enhancing Dubai’s status as a premier destination for real estate investment.
