Adel Al-Redha to “Al-Khaleej”: The New Engineering Center for Emirates Supports Fleet Growth
In recent statements, Adel Al-Redha, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Emirates Airlines, emphasized the importance of the new engineering center for Emirates, which aims to meet the future growth needs of the fleet. With a significant number of new aircraft entering service, this center will provide a comprehensive range of advanced maintenance and engineering services that support not only Emirates’ fleet but also offer services to other airlines.
Expanding Maintenance and Engineering Capabilities
Al-Redha stated that the need for Emirates Airlines to expand its maintenance and engineering capabilities will significantly increase in the coming years. The new engineering center for Emirates in Dubai South aims to provide the necessary infrastructure to accommodate future fleet growth. He noted that the project also offers operational capacity to meet the increasing demands for maintenance and engineering.
Collaboration with Other Airlines
Al-Redha explained that the new engineering center for Emirates will open doors for other airlines to benefit from the center’s expertise and facilities for maintaining their aircraft. In addition to traditional maintenance work, the center will also include converting passenger aircraft into cargo planes and modifying cabins.
Eco-Friendly Technologies and Engineering Innovations
Regarding the technologies used, Al-Redha mentioned the adoption of modern steel structures and eco-friendly designs. This aims to reduce the number of columns inside the hangars, allowing for greater flexibility in aircraft movement. Thanks to these innovations, the center will be able to accommodate a larger number of aircraft under one roof, reflecting Emirates’ commitment to ensuring operational efficiency.
Dubai South: A New Aviation Hub
Al-Redha confirmed that Dubai South has become a vital center for aviation projects, noting that the new engineering center for Emirates represents a strategic investment in the region, alongside the development of Al Maktoum International Airport. Dubai South aims to become a comprehensive aviation city, with the project being part of a broader vision for the future of aviation in the region.
