Mleiha Park Represents UAE at World Travel Awards

Al Mleha National Park has been shortlisted for the title of “Best National Park in the Middle East 2026” at the 33rd World Travel Awards, placing Sharjah’s heritage and eco-tourism destination among the region’s leading protected parks.

The park is located within the core area of the “Faya” landscape, which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is competing against just four other national parks from across the Middle East, underlining its growing profile as a destination that combines archaeological preservation with world-class experiences in eco-tourism, education and adventure.

A regional contender

The nomination highlights Mleiha’s long-standing commitment to safeguarding the UAE’s archaeological legacy while also developing experiences that appeal to visitors interested in nature, learning and desert adventure.

By reaching the final shortlist, Al Mleha National Park stands alongside a small number of protected parks across the region, reflecting the wider recognition of its role in heritage conservation and sustainable tourism.

Recognition from the World Travel Awards

The World Travel Awards are regarded as one of the most prestigious global honours in the travel, tourism and hospitality sectors, celebrating excellence and leadership in the development and management of destinations worldwide.

This nomination further confirms Al Mleha National Park’s rising status as a destination that brings together heritage preservation, nature protection, education and sustainable tourism in one of the Arabian Peninsula’s most important archaeological environments. Voting remains open until 31 July.
