As the seventh term of the UAE Businesswomen Council celebrates its first anniversary, it reflects on a year of substantial progress, driven by the vision and guidance of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Nation,” who serves as the Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and President of the Family Development Foundation.
Building Pathways for Female Entrepreneurs
From its inception, the Council aimed to go beyond mere meetings and events. The focus has been on constructing pathways that empower women entrepreneurs to enhance their projects, access new markets, and develop their skills while building a professional network that connects them with partnership and investment opportunities. Therefore, emphasis has been placed on supporting projects, entering regional and international markets, capacity building, and expanding professional networks.
Launching Quality Initiatives in 2026
During 2026, the Council prioritised launching initiatives that cater to the specific needs of women entrepreneurs. These initiatives ranged from enhancing their managerial and technical skills to boosting their presence in the media, leveraging AI tools for startups, and preparing products for expansion into global markets. The approach ensured that training was practical, equipping women entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools necessary to enhance their projects, increase competitiveness, and prepare for significant growth phases.
Strengthening Partnerships
Efforts were also directed towards building a network of partnerships that transcends the Council itself. This collaboration has involved government entities, the private sector, women’s business councils, and international organisations. Nonetheless, the achievements of the first year are not perceived as a destination but rather as a foundation and a launchpad for future accomplishments.
Looking Ahead
The priorities for the upcoming years are clear: expanding the network of partnerships, attracting more members, facilitating the global market access of women’s products and services, and most significantly, transforming agreements and delegations into tangible economic projects and opportunities. The Council is committed to developing specialised programmes in AI and digital transformation while strengthening impact measurement methodologies.
Empowering UAE Women
To every Emirati woman and girl, under the wise leadership that believes in women’s empowerment, and with the unwavering support from “Mother of the Nation,” we acknowledge the weight of our responsibilities. The progress made thus far obliges us to strive even harder for the future. We are here for you, listening to your ambitions, opening new spaces for your ideas and projects, and aspiring to witness more Emirati women elevating their ventures from local to global scales.
From Initiation to Impact
A year has passed, transitioning from initiative to accomplishment, and with God’s will, the future years will see a progression from achievement to significant impact. The aim remains focused on sustainable economic empowerment, effective partnerships, and a global presence worthy of Emirati women and their pivotal roles in shaping the economy of the future.
