Khalid Al Nuaimi, Director of the Federal Youth Authority, has said that building an integrated national system to develop future skills is a key pillar in strengthening young people’s readiness, enabling them to keep pace with global change and contribute effectively to shaping the future of development. He said this stems from the belief that investing in skills enhances a country’s competitiveness and preserves the sustainability of its achievements.
Future skills as a strategic priority
Speaking on the occasion of World Youth Skills Day, Al Nuaimi said: «Developing young people’s skills has become a strategic priority in light of the rapid transformations taking place around the world, and the new demands they place on economies and labour markets. Skills are no longer limited to technical aspects alone, but also include critical thinking, adaptability, innovation, collaborative working and continuous learning, as essential tools for building a generation capable of turning challenges into opportunities and creating innovative solutions with lasting impact».
Supporting lifelong learning and responsible technology use
He added: «The Federal Youth Authority continues, in cooperation with its partners across various sectors, to develop qualitative initiatives that enhance future skills, embed a culture of lifelong learning, and support the responsible use of emerging technologies, foremost among them artificial intelligence, in line with the objectives of the National Youth Agenda 2031. We seek to empower young people to acquire the knowledge and experience that qualify them to participate in designing solutions, creating opportunities and strengthening the UAE’s competitiveness, while consolidating its position as a global model in building national capabilities».
