Khalba Sports Festival Approves Its Operational Plan
As part of its intensive preparations, the Khalba Sports Festival Committee has approved its operational plan for the upcoming edition, set to take place in November. The committee aims to enhance community participation and offer a diverse range of events and competitions.
Effective Preparations for the Event
The organizing committee of the Khalba Sports Festival has continued its diligent efforts to present a distinguished new version of the festival next November. In this context, the committee held its third meeting, chaired by Dr. Saif Ahmed Al Zaabi, a member of the Sharjah Sports Council, at the Wasit Wetlands Center in Sharjah. During the meeting, the committee discussed the operational plan, which includes all sports competitions and community events for the festival, with approximately 80% of it being approved.
Increased Participation and Competitions
In a move aimed at engaging more government institutions, the committee agreed to increase the level of participation from these entities in the festival. Several new competitions that are expected to garner significant community interest were reviewed. This initiative is part of the strategy to make the Khalba Sports Festival one of the most prominent sports events in the region.
Organization of Workshops and New Events
Various topics were also discussed on the agenda, including the development of the festival’s visual identity, the inclusion of a range of electronic games, and the organization of health workshops. Regarding the festival’s electronic content platform, a working group led by Hamad Al Baymani has been formed to outline its specific requirements, with details to be submitted within a week.
Transforming the Festival into a Community Event
It is noteworthy that the Khalba Sports Festival is the new name for the edition that began five years ago, which focused primarily on beach games. The council has deemed it appropriate to develop the event to broaden its scope into a festival filled with community sports activities that align with the aspirations of the community. The approval of the operational plan marks a crucial step towards achieving this goal, reflecting the committee’s commitment to fully prepare for this edition.
