His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has awarded the prestigious “First Class Al-Nahda Medal” to His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah, President of the UAE Fatwa Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace. This honour, among the highest accolades in Jordan, recognizes Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah’s scholarly stature and his influential contributions to the service of Islam, as well as his tireless efforts to promote values of tolerance, peace, and cultural dialogue.
The honour was bestowed upon Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II during a meeting held on the sidelines of the 19th General Conference of the Al al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought. The conference, which took place in the Jordanian capital, Amman, was themed “The Nation’s Priorities for the Next Twenty-Five Years.”
This recognition not only highlights the esteemed position and high regard for the United Arab Emirates but also reflects the nation’s commitment to pioneering peace initiatives and fostering values of tolerance, coexistence, and human fraternal bonds.
