UAE Hotel Revenues Exceed 26 Billion Dirhams in Half a Year

Hotel Revenues in the Country Exceed 26 Billion Dirhams in Six Months

Hotel revenues in the country have shown remarkable growth, surpassing 26 billion dirhams during the first half of this year. This exceptional performance highlights the strength of the tourism sector in the UAE and reaffirms the government’s commitment to its development and enhancement as part of the national economic strategy. In this context, the Minister of Economy and Tourism pointed out the significance of these results and their positive impact on the local economy.

Growth of Hotel Revenues

The Minister of Economy and Tourism and Chairman of the UAE Tourism Council, Abdullah bin Touq Al Mari, confirmed that hotel revenues in the country experienced a notable increase of 6.3% compared to the same period last year. These revenues reached over 26 billion dirhams during the first part of the year, with an occupancy rate of 80.5%. This figure reflects the flourishing hotel sector and the ongoing success in attracting visitors.

Efforts to Enhance the Tourism Sector

Al Touq added that the council is working diligently to promote sustainable development in tourism through establishing strategic partnerships between the public and private sectors. These initiatives aim to create unique tourism experiences, which will provide exceptional job opportunities for Emirati talent. These efforts directly contribute to achieving the goals of the National Tourism Strategy 2031, which seeks to increase the sector’s contribution to the national economy to 450 billion dirhams.

Coordinating Future Efforts

During the third meeting of the council for 2025, several new tourism initiatives and projects were reviewed. The attendees discussed the importance of integration between local tourism authorities and the private sector to ensure that the set objectives are achieved and to enhance the competitiveness of tourism in the country. This discussion was part of the preparations for hosting the “UAE-Africa Tourism Investment Summit” scheduled for October 27.

The success of hotel revenues in the country, which exceeded 26 billion dirhams in six months, demonstrates how fruitful collaboration between the government and the private sector can make a real difference in the growth of the sector. With ongoing developments and upcoming preparations, it appears that the UAE is on the right path to making tourism one of the cornerstones of the national economy.
