The Hamriya Cultural and Sports Club is currently hosting a training camp for the UAE national sailing team, which will run until 6th September. This camp is crucial as the team prepares for the upcoming Asian Games in Japan.
The national team’s camp is taking place at the Hamriya International Sailing Centre and features four athletes: Sultan Al-Owais, Abdullah Al-Zubaidi, Dhuh Al-Bashar, and Marwa Al-Hamadi. They are under the guidance of the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation’s head coach, Captain Zouhair Al-Labat.
Mohammed Al-Obaidli, the Secretary-General of the federation, stated that this Hamriya camp represents the final phase of the team’s preparations ahead of the Asian Games, scheduled to run from 21st September to 4th October.
Al-Obaidli highlighted that prior to this domestic training camp, the team had participated in external camps in Morocco, Denmark, and Italy. These preparations aim to enhance their technical and physical readiness, thereby increasing their chances of achieving commendable results at this continental event.
