Fujairah Chamber Showcases Its Experience in Empowering Entrepreneurship
The Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry highlighted its exceptional experience in empowering entrepreneurship during a seminar organized by the Arab Labor Organization in Amman. Under the title “Developing the Technical and Vocational Training and Education System to Create Future Entrepreneurs,” the chamber discussed how to support youth and stimulate innovation in this vital field. These efforts are part of a comprehensive vision that supports the national economy and enhances local job opportunities by leveraging modern innovations.
Fujairah’s Experience in Promoting Entrepreneurship
Sultan Jumaa Al-Hindasi, the General Director of the chamber, presented a working paper titled “The Experience of Fujairah Chamber in Empowering Entrepreneurship,” which was attended by board member Abdullah Mohammed Saeed Al-Zanahani. Al-Hindasi emphasized the importance of preparing youth to face challenges, asserting that this forms the foundation for sustainable urban development. He also called for transforming the new generation into productive forces, focusing on the entrepreneurship sector as a key driver for job creation and economic development.
Business Incubators and Funding Initiatives
In the context of its efforts to empower entrepreneurship, Al-Hindasi reviewed the various initiatives launched by the chamber, highlighting the establishment of the “Fujairah Center for Supporting Small Projects.” The center includes business incubators that offer various benefits, such as exemption from government fees for five years and allocating a percentage of government purchases to youth projects. Al-Hindasi added that the chamber also focuses on financial empowerment through its partnership with the National Fund for Community Responsibility (Majra), where the “Community Entrepreneurs” program was launched to finance emerging projects.
Training Courses to Enhance Skills
The Fujairah Chamber’s role extends beyond financial support; it has worked to improve productivity efficiency by organizing specialized training courses. These courses aim to integrate advanced technology into business and enhance the skills of entrepreneurs. The chamber has engaged these entrepreneurs in trade delegations and international exhibitions to broaden their horizons and gain new experiences.
Strategic Recommendations and Future Vision
The seminar concluded with a set of strategic recommendations that included updating vocational education and training strategies to align with the requirements of the digital economy. The recommendations also urged the integration of entrepreneurship skills into educational curricula and encouraged the private sector to better prepare graduates. Additionally, the necessity of enhancing the media’s role in promoting a culture of self-employment was emphasized, which will contribute to rebuilding trust in vocational and technical education.
The Fujairah Chamber continues to provide innovative insights to support entrepreneurship, dedicating its efforts to developing a conducive environment that encourages innovation and offers job opportunities for Emirati youth.
