In an exciting development for cycling enthusiasts and participants of the Dubai Ride, Careem has partnered with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to offer free bike rentals through its Careem Bike service. This initiative aims to enhance accessibility and encourage community involvement in this significant sporting event, making it easier for participants to engage actively in Dubai’s vibrant cycling culture.
Careem announced this collaboration to facilitate a rewarding experience for those taking part in the Dubai Ride, underscoring the joint efforts of both parties to promote a healthier lifestyle in the city. Participants can redeem one free ride by using the promo code DR25 on the Careem app. The bikes can be collected from two temporary Careem Bike stations: Entrance A of the Museum of the Future (Commercial Street) and Entrance E in the lower area of the Dubai International Financial Centre (Financial Street). Alternatively, users may pick up bikes from any of the more than 200 Careem Bike stations across Dubai.
The bikes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis from 3:00 AM to 8:00 AM. Notably, participants will not incur additional charges if their ride duration exceeds 45 minutes during this timeframe. According to Hussein Al Banna, Executive Director of the Traffic and Roads Agency at the RTA, “The Dubai Ride event is a cornerstone of the Dubai Fitness Challenge and aligns with our goal of promoting Dubai as a bike-friendly city. Our partnership with Careem Bike enables more community members to adopt active and sustainable modes of transportation, consistent with our priorities regarding safety, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.”
Basel Al Nahlaoui, CEO of Careem’s business sector, expressed pride in this collaboration for the fourth consecutive year, emphasizing, “By providing Careem Bike rentals for free, we contribute to empowering more community members to join this exceptional social event while promoting cycling as a healthy and sustainable mode of transport in Dubai.” Participants should download the latest version of the Careem app, select the bike option, choose a single ride permit, and enter the promo code DR25 at checkout during the specified hours on November 2, 2025.
To participate, riders must meet at Entrance A of the Museum of the Future or Entrance E of the DIFC, or they may use any of the Careem Bike stations located throughout Dubai. It is also important for participants to bring their own helmets and register on the Dubai Ride event website. While credit card information must be entered for security purposes, no charges will apply during the event.
The Dubai Ride event will open its routes at 6:15 AM and conclude at 8:00 AM, providing numerous Careem Bike stations near the event entrances for maximum convenience. Launched in collaboration with the RTA in 2020, the Careem Bike service has grown into one of the largest electric bike-sharing networks in the region. Since its inception, Careem Bike rides have contributed to a reduction of over 5.7 million kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions, equivalent to the emissions produced by more than 1,600 vehicles over five years. This achievement highlights the positive impact of sustainable transportation options on urban quality of life.
