With the Participation of 50 Divers, the Fish Wealth Authority Organizes a Cleanup Campaign at Dibba Al-Hisn Port

In a notable step reflecting the local community’s commitment to the marine environment, the Sharjah Fish Wealth Authority organized a comprehensive cleanup campaign at the bottom of Dibba Al-Hisn Port, with the participation of 50 divers and many community members. The campaign was not merely an environmental event; it celebrated the values of volunteering and shared responsibility in caring for the seas and oceans. This initiative aims to raise public awareness about the importance of preserving the marine environment and reducing pollution.

Organization of the Campaign and Participants

The campaign was held in the presence of His Excellency Ali Ahmed Abu Ghazeen, Chairman of the Sharjah Fish Wealth Authority, along with several staff members and members of the Dibba Al-Hisn Cooperative Society for Fishermen, as well as other officials and residents of Dibba Al-Hisn. Fifty divers contributed to collecting waste from the port’s bottom, achieving a significant accomplishment in cleaning this vital area.

Objectives of the Campaign

Zainab Jassim Al-Sajwani, Head of the Media Department at the Sharjah Fish Wealth Authority, stated that the cleanup campaign at Dibba Al-Hisn Port represents the first initiative of its kind in this field. Its main goal is to enhance community responsibility and instill a culture of volunteering among the younger generations, which contributes to preserving the rich marine environment in the region.

Interactive Activities and Workshops for Children

In addition to the cleanup efforts, a series of educational entertainment activities for children were organized by Sharjah Children, part of the Quarter Century Foundation for Leadership and Innovation. These activities were designed to promote marine culture and raise awareness about the importance of preserving our marine environment. The events provided children with an opportunity to actively participate in protecting and conserving the marine environment.
