Sharjah Book Fair: Maritime Journeys to Transport Readers to the Exhibition Gates
The Sharjah Book Authority is preparing to offer a unique experience at the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair, which will be held at the Sharjah Expo Center from November 5 to 16. It has been announced that dedicated maritime journeys will transport readers from gathering points in Sharjah, Dubai, and Ajman directly to the exhibition gates. This service aims to facilitate access for visitors and promote a love for reading through this major cultural event.
Diverse Transportation Services
The Sharjah Book Authority has launched a visitor transport service via two buses, one departing from Dubai and the other from Ajman. This service offers three trips daily, covering 12 hours during the exhibition period. The buses depart from the Al Rashidiya bus station in Dubai and the City Center parking in Ajman, ensuring visitors can easily reach the cultural event.
Maritime Transport and Amenities
In addition to land transport services, the Sharjah Book Authority offers a maritime transport service (FR5) for visitors coming from Dubai, allowing them to reach Sharjah via a marine connection between the Al Ghubaiba marine transport station and the Sharjah Aquarium station. Visitors can then continue their journey for free using boats from the Sharjah Aquarium and Al Qasba to the water station at the Sharjah Expo Center. This service reflects the authority’s commitment to providing comfort and facilitating transportation during the exhibition.

In this context, Badr Mohammed Sab, Director of Government Communication at the Sharjah Book Authority, stated: “The diversification of transport options for visitors to the Sharjah International Book Fair is a response to the congestion the fair experiences annually, attracting visitors from all around the world and from all emirates of the UAE.” He also expressed gratitude to the Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai for their continuous collaboration, reflecting the integrated efforts of local institutions to serve culture and knowledge.
