In an effort to enhance community well-being and safety during the summer months, the Municipality of Al Hamriyah has launched its annual “Safe and Happy Summer” campaign. This engaging event takes place at Al Hamriyah Beach Park, featuring a variety of educational and entertainment activities aimed at families, children, and visitors. The initiative underscores the municipality’s commitment to promoting public safety and enriching the quality of life, paving the way for a delightful summer experience.
On the opening weekend, held on Friday and Saturday, the event attracted a large audience, who eagerly participated in a diverse array of activities. With numerous informative sessions, entertainment programs, and interactive competitions, the Municipality of Al Hamriyah campaign showcased its dedication to fostering community engagement and development. Notably, the event included exciting raffles, valuable prizes, and various fun-filled activities, all designed to ensure a “Safe and Happy Summer” for everyone involved.
The second day of the festivities coincided with “World Turtle Day.” To mark this occasion, the Municipality of Al Hamriyah created a special section dedicated to raising awareness about marine turtles and the critical importance of their preservation. Additionally, the Environment and Natural Reserves Authority participated with an environmental exhibition that highlighted ongoing efforts to protect biodiversity and the environment. Such initiatives play an integral role in educating the community about ecological conservation, further reinforcing the essence of a “Safe and Happy Summer.”
The activities also featured engaging demonstrations from the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, which emphasized maritime safety culture through exciting water shows and experiences. Meanwhile, Tornado Landskip offered an informative seminar on beach flags and signs, as well as potential drowning scenarios and preventive measures. This reflects a collective effort to elevate beachgoer awareness and ensure a safe environment—key components of a “Safe and Happy Summer.”
To further enhance the public’s understanding of health and safety, the Municipality’s Inspection and Control Department organized an interactive segment titled “Questions and Answers,” taking place both in the open sea and at the beach park. This initiative aimed to educate visitors on general guidelines and appropriate behaviors related to public safety. Additionally, a dedicated area was set up for a floating swimming chair, designed to assist people of determination and the elderly, ensuring that everyone can enjoy safe access to the beach where everyone can enjoy a “Safe and Happy Summer.”
Saeed Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of the Municipality of Al Hamriyah, emphasized that the “Safe and Happy Summer” campaign exemplifies the ongoing efforts of the municipality to bolster community awareness and reinforce public safety concepts through creative and entertaining methods. He noted that the campaign will continue throughout the summer, offering a series of programs and events tailored for all community members in collaboration with strategic partners.
