The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has engaged in important discussions on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in empowering youth with future skills and preparing them for upcoming job opportunities. This dialogue coincided with International Youth Day and took place at the Youth Forum 2026, held from 9 to 12 August, which welcomed over 300 university students, recent graduates, and job seekers.
Empowering the Next Generation with AI Skills
During a workshop titled “Artificial Intelligence and Youth Empowerment: Future Skills and Job Readiness,” SDAIA explored the transformative impact of AI technologies on the job market. Led by Dr. Mohammed Kattbi, Chief Executive Officer’s Advisor for Capacity Building at SDAIA, the session emphasised the essential future skills required to keep pace with these changes. It underscored the necessity for equipping youth with AI tools and techniques to enhance their readiness for emerging job opportunities.
The Future of Digital Services Through AI
A second workshop, led by Senior Software Engineer Abdulaziz Yahya Al-Aati, focused on “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Digital Services.” This session presented practical models and applications for leveraging AI in digital services, showcasing the “Tawakkalna” app as a case study. The workshop highlighted how this initiative has improved the quality of life, enhanced government service efficiency, and provided users with more effective digital experiences.
SDAIA’s Commitment to National Capacity Building
SDAIA’s participation in the forum underscores its commitment to building national capabilities in data and AI fields. The authority aims to raise awareness about advanced technologies among youth and equip them with skills necessary to navigate the rapidly changing job market. This engagement aligns with the “Year of Artificial Intelligence 2026,” which has been prominently featured in the materials and platforms related to the forum.
