Empowering Local Manufacturing: New Opportunities with ADNOC

Abu Dhabi (Al Ittihad) – ADNOC is set to unveil new opportunities for local manufacturing of industrial products as part of its project portfolio at the second edition of the “Make with ADNOC” forum. This initiative aims to accelerate the growth of the national industrial sector and support the objectives of the “Make in the UAE” initiative.

Event Details and Objectives

The forum will take place on 25th October at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, ahead of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC 2026), which will run from 2nd to 5th November at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). The event will see the participation of key industry leaders alongside local and international companies.

Building on Previous Successes

This edition of the forum builds upon the success of its inaugural event in May 2026, during which ADNOC announced a target to award projects worth AED 200 billion (USD 55 billion) from 2026 to 2028. The forum serves as a comprehensive platform, fostering collaboration among government entities, national and international companies, suppliers, contractors, manufacturers, investors, and strategic partners. The objective is to expand local manufacturing and enhance industrial resilience.

New Manufacturing Opportunities

ADNOC will showcase new manufacturing opportunities across various phases and aspects of its value chain, allowing companies to leverage its project portfolio and contribute to strengthening local supply chains. The forum will also highlight advancements made in implementing the “+Local” initiative, which was introduced during the first edition of the event. This initiative aims to ensure that contractors engaged in engineering, procurement, and construction with ADNOC prioritise products manufactured in the UAE by certified national companies that meet ADNOC’s technical standards and qualification requirements, thus fostering commercial competitiveness.

Supporting Local Economies

The “+Local” initiative builds upon the successes of ADNOC’s National Content Programme, which has redirected over AED 307 billion (USD 83.7 billion) to the local economy since its launch in 2018. ADNOC has set a goal of purchasing locally manufactured products worth AED 90 billion (USD 24.5 billion) as part of its procurement plans by 2030, with agreements already signed amounting to AED 80 billion (USD 21.8 billion) for products manufactured within the country.

Impact on the Industrial Sector

These agreements have supported more than 96 industrial companies, over 60% of which export their products to global markets. Additionally, ADNOC’s partners have invested AED 4.5 billion (USD 1.2 billion) in establishing new factories and enhancing advanced manufacturing capabilities across the UAE.

This strategic focus on local manufacturing not only aims to enhance the competitiveness of the UAE’s industrial landscape but also reflects ADNOC’s commitment to driving economic growth and sustainability within the nation.
