In its efforts to promote the Arabic language as an effective tool for dialogue between different cultures, the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language is launching an enriching journey that will continue until the end of 2025. This initiative is part of a UAE vision that highlights the Arabic language as a knowledge bridge extending across cultures, reflecting its status as one of the most important languages of communication in the world. From France to Asia, the center will conduct various cultural events and activities aimed at enhancing global awareness of the significance of the Arabic language.
Cultural Roots Based on a Bridge of Dialogue
The Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language is committed to promoting cultural activities that showcase the beauty of the Arabic language. Dr. Ali bin Tamim, the center’s president, noted that “the greatest gift any civilization can offer the world is its ability to open windows for dialogue.” This journey begins in the City of Light, Paris, at the Arab Days Festival, which concludes the center’s annual activities and celebrates cultural diversity and the heritage of the Arabic language, coinciding with UNESCO celebrations.
Notable Activities and Global Presence
On July 12, the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, in collaboration with the Arab World Institute in Paris, will represent the Arabic language as a guest of honor at the Avignon International Festival. This event will feature an artistic evening titled “The Voice of Women – A Tribute to the Star of the East, Umm Kulthum,” celebrating the 50th anniversary of her passing. Additionally, a poetic and musical event titled “Light” will be held in Saint Joseph, allowing a number of artists and creators to express the richness of the Arabic language in contemporary artistic forms.
Future Plans and International Cooperation
The Abu Dhabi Center will not be limited to events in Europe; it will also be present at the Japan Expo in Osaka, where it will organize an event to support Arabic language education, including research presentations and discussion panels on its teaching worldwide. Participation will continue to include numerous conferences and exhibitions in various countries such as Greece, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, and Indonesia, reflecting the center’s commitment to spreading Arabic culture and enhancing its presence on the international stage.
Arab Days Festival: Interaction and Celebration of Heritage
As 2025 approaches, the Abu Dhabi Center is preparing to launch the third edition of the Arab Days Festival, which will embody Arab arts and culture as an integral part of the cultural landscape in Abu Dhabi. This festival aims to inspire the audience and redefine the meanings associated with the Arabic language, achieving a balance between the present and the past. The theme of the festival will be determined based on UNESCO’s guidelines, enhancing the richness of the Arabic language and ensuring its role as a driver of creativity across various fields of life.
