The upcoming “WETEX 2026” exhibition will see six Emirati companies showcase innovative solutions aimed at reducing diesel consumption by between 60% and 80%. These advancements, particularly in renewable energy, fuel management, and environmental technologies, are part of broader efforts to enhance the competitiveness of local businesses and expand their commercial and investment opportunities.
Participating under the umbrella of the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, which operates under Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, these companies benefit from supported participation that allows entrepreneurs to present their products to potential investors and government and private entities while forging partnerships to stimulate business growth.
The showcased solutions include a diverse array of technologies, such as solar energy systems, smart grids that monitor and distribute electricity consumption, alongside energy storage, electric vehicle charging stations, and water desalination technologies. These innovations not only aim to improve resource efficiency but also to reduce operational costs.
The significance of these solutions lies in their potential to simultaneously lower costs and emissions, a vital consideration for industries such as construction and logistics that rely on generators in areas distant from the power grid.
How New Technologies Reduce Fuel Consumption
Among the highlighted innovations is the hybrid energy systems presented by “Corporate Trade House.” These systems integrate solar energy, batteries, and generators to provide power to facilities operating in remote locations and construction sites.
According to the company, these systems reduce dependency on traditional fuels and curb emissions associated with operational processes. Adil Idris Al-Awadi, CEO of Corporate Trade House, stated that the company aims to penetrate neighbouring markets and enhance exports while exploring new investment opportunities in renewable energy.
Their products include portable power generation and storage devices suitable for use in homes, camping, sports events, and sectors such as defence, logistics, humanitarian assistance, and infrastructure projects.
In the fuel sector, “Al-Barrel Energy” is showcasing biodiesel solutions, a fuel derived from renewable sources such as vegetable oils and used fats. As an authorized distributor for Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) since 2007, the company supplies diesel in bulk and provides lubricant oils along with emergency delivery services for businesses.
Mohammed Ahmed Balhoul, the company’s general manager, noted that biodiesel helps companies reduce emissions without needing to alter their existing equipment. The company employs smart technologies to analyse customer consumption, forecast needs, and optimise delivery routes, which minimises waste while lowering costs and emissions.
Supporting Small Enterprises and Expanding Business Opportunities
Participation in “WETEX 2026” offers Emirati companies a platform for direct engagement with investors and government and private organisations, enhancing possibilities for new partnerships and local and regional expansion.
This exhibition provides a unique opportunity for Emirati businesses to explore investment and export possibilities in the energy and sustainability sectors. According to Al-Balushi, the success of participation will be measured by the companies’ ability to turn commercial interactions into sustainable partnerships that foster business growth.
The UAE’s target of achieving climate neutrality by 2050 further expands the local market for emissions reduction solutions, highlighting the critical role of innovation and collaboration in sustainable development.
