Dubai Eid Festivities Witness Processing of 18400 Animals

During Eid al-Adha 2026, Dubai’s slaughterhouses experienced a remarkable influx of participants, processing a total of 18,377 sacrificial animals. This activity took place across five slaughterhouses in Dubai, under operational protocols designed to prioritize efficiency and hygiene. Strict oversight ensured the quality of meat and the safety of sacrificial animals throughout the festive period, reflecting the municipality’s commitment to upholding health and service standards.

High Demand on Eid’s First Day

The first day of Eid witnessed the highest turnout, with 8,303 animals processed, accounting for nearly 45% of the total sacrifices made during the festive season. On the second day, 3,949 animals were processed, followed by 2,459 on the third and 947 on the fourth day. Additionally, 2,719 animals were slaughtered during Arafah Day, showcasing the immense participation in the sacrificial tradition.

Operational Excellence and Preparedness

Dubai’s slaughterhouses implemented an integrated operational system characterized by speed and efficiency. Abdullah Al-Abbasi, the director of the slaughterhouse section in the municipality, stated, “We ensured a comprehensive and streamlined experience for participants by expediting procedures and organizing the flow of visitors.” This planning allowed for quick service delivery and minimized wait times for those participating in the sacrificial rites.

Distribution of Sacrifices Across Slaughterhouses

Among the slaughterhouses, Al Qusais took the lead by accommodating 9,227 sacrifices, highlighting its status as one of the largest slaughterhouses in the emirate. The Al Qusais Fast Slaughterhouse followed with 3,873, while Al Quoz received 2,724 animals. The Lisaili slaughterhouse processed 2,090 sacrifices, and Al Hatta had 463. These numbers exemplify the public’s trust in the services provided by the municipal slaughterhouses.

Health and Safety Standards

The municipality instituted strict health regulations at every stage of the slaughter process, including pre-slaughter veterinary inspections and final meat quality checks. This diligent approach ensures that all sacrifices are safe and free from diseases that could impact public health. Al-Abbasi noted the efficient management of operations even with the high turnout, thanks to well-prepared production lines and crowd management practices.

Technology and Convenience for Participants

In addition to physical services, the municipality also rolled out app-based solutions for purchasing and preparing sacrifices, allowing customers to complete all procedures electronically. This initiative minimized crowding at slaughterhouses and enhanced the comfort of participants, aligning with modern service expectations.

The success experienced during Eid al-Adha is a testament to Dubai’s commitment to enhancing operational services and ensuring the safe and timely processing of the 18,377 sacrificial animals. This accomplishment reflects ongoing efforts to improve the municipal slaughterhouse services, thereby contributing to the overall quality of life and satisfaction of residents in the emirate.
