Dubai Showcases Exceptional Security Preparedness for Eid Festivities

As Dubai prepares to celebrate Eid al-Adha, the city is fully committed to ensuring the safety of all events associated with the holiday. With a vibrant atmosphere that brings families and celebrants together from around the globe, Dubai offers a blend of traditional customs and world-class entertainment. This year, the city’s readiness to secure Eid celebrations will be evident across its tourist spots, shopping centers, markets, beaches, and pools.

Inclusive Festivities Across Dubai

Dubai welcomes the joyous days of Eid al-Adha with a festive spirit that captivates residents and visitors alike. The city has organized numerous events and activities aimed at providing happiness and leisure. Special festivities are designed for labor communities in areas such as Jebel Ali, Al Satwa, Al Muhaisnah, and Al Quoz. These will include sports tournaments, educational lectures, entertainment activities, raffles, gifts, and competitions, taking place on the first and second days of Eid from 6 PM until midnight.

Comprehensive Security Measures for Eid

In preparation for Eid al-Adha, the Event Security Committee in Dubai has finalized a comprehensive security plan. This plan will ensure the safety of all mosques and large prayer grounds throughout the emirate. There will be an increased police presence on main roads, key tourist areas, shopping centers, and open markets to enhance security and safety measures. According to Major General Saif Mahir Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations and Head of the Event Security Committee, the strategy involves deploying security patrols in all vital regions.

Resource Allocation for a Safe Celebration

The security plan for Eid al-Adha includes a substantial allocation of resources designed to ensure public safety. This entails 1,642 security patrols, 37 ground rescue vehicles, 29 marine security boats, two helicopters, six operational teams, 160 ambulance stations, 50 bicycle patrols, five marine rescue boats, 208 civil defense vehicles, and several emergency response vehicles. Major General Al Mazrouei emphasizes that the collaboration between Dubai Police’s Traffic Department and the Roads and Transport Authority will help manage congestion and facilitate smooth traffic flow during festivities.

Emergency Response Preparedness

Dubai’s Command and Control Center remains on high alert to handle emergency calls 24/7. The aim is to ensure swift access for specialized police teams in response to urgent situations. Guests celebrating Eid are reminded to dial 901 for non-emergency matters and 999 for emergencies. The public can also utilize the “Police Eye” feature in the Dubai Police smart app to report any observations or violations.

Major General Al Mazrouei urges the community to adhere to speed limits while traveling and stresses the importance of child safety at beaches and pools. Families are advised to closely supervise their children in public spaces and refrain from allowing them to play with fireworks during the festivities, given the associated risks of burns and injuries.
