The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai has announced that it has completed more than 5 million entry permit transactions, issued more than 1.051 million new residency permits, processed over 910,000 residency renewal transactions, and granted about 66,000 Golden Residencies. The figures reflect the efficiency of the government’s work system and its ability to keep pace with Dubai’s rapid growth through proactive digital services that meet customer needs quickly and efficiently, while matching the rising demand for residency and entry services.
Digital services keep pace with demand
Director-General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, said the Zero Bureaucracy initiative has been implemented at the directorate for more than a year and is one of the strategic priorities aligned with Dubai Government’s digital transformation journey. He explained that work teams continue to re-engineer services and procedures in a way that delivers a more flexible and seamless experience, saving customers time and effort, in line with the wise leadership’s directives to develop proactive government services centred on people and strengthening Dubai’s position as a global destination for living, working, investment and tourism.
Next phase to expand smart services
Al Marri noted that the next phase will see the launch of more smart services, alongside broader use of artificial intelligence to provide faster and more efficient services. He said this will help improve the customer experience, reinforce a culture of innovation, and raise the flexibility, quality and efficiency of government services.
