10% Progress on Dubai Metro Blue Line in 5 Months

The Dubai Metro Blue Line project has made significant progress, achieving 10% completion in 5 months since work began. This strategic project, spanning 30 kilometers and including 14 stations, aims to enhance the transportation network in the emirate and improve the quality of life for residents and visitors. Below are details about the project, its phases, and future features.

Notable Progress in the Project

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), announced that 10% completion in 5 months is a significant achievement. More than 500 engineers and experts, along with 3,000 workers across 12 sites, are working to accelerate the project’s progress. Al Tayer expects the completion rate to reach 30% by the end of 2026, with the project set to open on September 9, 2029.

Steps Towards Successful Project Implementation

The Blue Line works are being executed according to the highest global standards, with teams recording over 3 million work hours without any accidents among the workers. Al Tayer emphasizes that this achievement reflects the RTA’s commitment to safety and quality standards. Eleven traffic diversions have been implemented, with plans for additional diversions to facilitate movement, alongside achievements in deep foundation work and excavation at various project sites.

Future Strategy and Project Impact

The Blue Line project is not just a means of transportation; it is a fundamental pillar in achieving the goals of the Dubai Urban Plan 2040. It is expected to reduce traffic congestion by 20% and increase property values around the stations by up to 25%. The project will also positively impact sustainable development by reducing reliance on private transportation.

Community Responsibility and Effective Communication

The RTA aims to enhance communication with the community through a comprehensive awareness strategy regarding 10% completion in 5 months. This strategy includes conducting field surveys in affected areas to maintain project transparency and facilitate interaction with residents. Customer council sessions have been held to address citizens’ inquiries and provide them with regular updates on the project’s progress.

The Dubai Metro Blue Line project represents an advanced step towards a more developed and intelligent future for the city’s transportation. With the progress made on this massive project, the prospects for improving the quality of life and essential services in Dubai appear brighter.
