In a significant move to support families facing challenges due to rental disputes, Dubai has launched the “ستر” initiative under the auspices of the Rental Dispute Center and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation. This initiative aligns with the UAE’s goal to designate 2026 as the Year of Family, focusing on social cohesion and humanitarian efforts in the region. The “ستر” initiative embodies a commitment to assist those burdened by rental obligations, thereby contributing to the stability of the local community.
Objectives of the “ستر” Initiative
The primary aim of the “ستر” initiative is to establish values of solidarity within families and ensure the overall well-being of society. This humanitarian message seeks to empower targeted families, allowing them to live in safety and peace. Furthermore, “ستر” reflects Dubai’s spirit of kindness and support for those in need, reinforcing the community’s collaborative efforts.
Scope and Implementation
Running throughout 2026, “ستر” serves as a collective call for social responsibility. The initiative intends to assist individuals facing financial difficulties due to rental disputes and enhance the performance metrics of the Rental Dispute Center by resolving as many execution files as possible linked to these issues. Additionally, it aims to foster social programs that elevate Dubai’s status as a leader in humanitarian efforts both locally and globally.
Leadership Perspectives
Abdul Qadir Mousa Mohammed, Head of the Rental Dispute Center, emphasized that “ستر” embodies the foundational principles of Dubai. He pointed out that the center does more than facilitate judicial processes; it actively extends support to struggling families through meticulous criteria to ensure that assistance reaches those in genuine need.
Collaboration for Impact
Saeed Omar Al-Daileh, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, praised this partnership, reaffirming the foundation’s commitment to enhancing humanitarian efforts in support of the Year of Family. The initiative is anticipated to create a significant impact by facilitating the release of 111 individuals while addressing 187 execution files and supporting 232 families. To bolster this cause, the foundation has allocated 10 million dirhams aimed at fortifying family stability, thereby amplifying the humanitarian role of the center alongside its comprehensive judicial system dedicated to safeguarding rights and ensuring the stability of the rental sector in Dubai.
The “ستر” initiative not only marks a pivotal moment in Dubai’s ongoing dedication to community welfare but also serves as a testament to the city’s deep commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all its residents.
