Dubai Financial Centre Experiences 62% Growth with 775 New Firms

The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) has reported remarkable growth in its client base for the first quarter of 2026, attracting new clients from both regional and global markets. The DIFC welcomed 775 new companies during this period, highlighting its prominent role in financial services, business, and innovation. This figure represents an impressive increase of 62% compared to the same quarter in 2025, which saw the addition of 478 companies. March alone demonstrated significant performance with a 59% year-on-year increase, welcoming 258 new firms compared to 162 in the previous year.

Significant Increase in International Interest

The continued rise in the number of companies at the Dubai International Financial Centre indicates a broader shift in global financial flows. Investors and institutions are reaffirming their commitment to Dubai and its financial hub, despite facing uncertainties in the global economy.

A Unique Economic Model

His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, stated, “Dubai continues to establish a unique economic model based on proactivity and flexibility to cope with regional and global changes.” He attributed this success to the strategic vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, which emphasizes future foresight and enhancing economic readiness. This approach has solidified Dubai’s status as a trusted global center for finance and business.

Enhancing Investor Confidence

Commenting on the results, DIFC Governor Essa Kazim emphasized that Dubai’s ranking among the top 10 global financial centers reflects the strength of its strategic vision. He noted, “The center plays a crucial role in translating this vision into tangible outcomes, reinforcing investor confidence and attracting global capital.” This continued progress is crucial for achieving the objectives of Dubai’s 2033 Economic Agenda.

Growth in Financial Licensing

In light of the ongoing demand from regulated financial institutions, the DIFC witnessed a 21% growth in the number of financial service licenses issued in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the same period last year. This robust performance illustrates the DIFC’s appeal as a preferred destination for establishing regional offices and serving the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia markets. Moreover, the number of registered family entities has surged to 158, more than doubling the count from the previous year with a record growth rate of 108%.

The Dubai International Financial Centre continues to thrive as a beacon of opportunity in the evolving economic landscape, attracting businesses and bolstering its reputation as a leading financial hub in the region.
