Dubai Chambers Global has opened a new representative office in Angola’s capital, Luanda, in a move aimed at strengthening trade and investment ties between Dubai and Angola.
The opening is part of the chamber’s wider effort to deepen cooperation between Dubai-based companies and their counterparts across African markets. The Luanda office is the eighth representative office for Dubai Chambers Global on the continent. The inauguration was attended by Salem Ali Alshamsi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Angola, along with a group of Angolan officials and business leaders.
New channels for cooperation
Salem Al Shamsi, Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, said: “The opening of Dubai Chambers Global’s office in Luanda reflects our firm commitment to developing new pathways for cooperation between business communities in Dubai and Angola. We look forward to exploring new trade and investment opportunities and strengthening bilateral partnerships, in a way that contributes to increasing mutual trade and investment flows, and supports our objectives of consolidating Dubai’s position as a global business hub and a key gateway for expansion into promising markets.”
The launch comes amid strong growth in bilateral commercial relations. Non-oil trade between Dubai and Angola reached AED11.6 billion in 2025, marking 47.5% growth compared with 2024. By the end of March 2026, there were 87 active Angolan companies registered as members of Dubai Chamber of Commerce.
Supporting business expansion in both directions
The new representative office will work with Angola’s business community to strengthen ties with key stakeholders across both the public and private sectors. It will also promote Dubai’s competitive advantages as a global business destination and provide valuable information to help Angolan companies establish a presence in the emirate and use it as a launchpad for international expansion.
At the same time, the office will support Dubai-based companies seeking to expand into the Angolan market by offering specialist market insights, identifying important commercial and investment opportunities, and connecting them with trusted local partners to help ensure smooth market entry and sustainable business growth.
Part of Dubai Global initiative
The opening in Luanda forms part of the Dubai Global initiative, which aims to establish 50 representative offices worldwide by 2030. The initiative is designed to reinforce Dubai’s standing as a leading global business hub by attracting companies and foreign direct investment, while also supporting the international expansion of local companies across 30 priority markets around the world.
