In a significant move to strengthen commercial ties, Dubai Chambers has signed four memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with esteemed trade chambers in China. This initiative aims to foster collaboration within the business community and enhance commercial links between companies operating in Dubai and those in Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Chongqing.
Strengthening Ties Through Agreements
The MoUs were formalised with the Beijing Chamber of International Commerce, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade – Shenzhen Chamber, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade – Guangzhou Chamber, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade – Chongqing Chamber. These agreements were signed during the “Dubai Business Forum – China,” which recently took place in Shenzhen. Participating in the signing were Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, Director General of Dubai Chambers, and several prominent officials from the respective Chinese chambers.
Key Signatories and Their Remarks
Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah expressed, “We are committed to enhancing the openness of Dubai’s business community to priority markets by building effective partnerships that support direct communication between companies. This will allow for the exploration of promising business and investment opportunities. We are dedicated to developing a supportive ecosystem that enables the local private sector to expand its international presence and benefit from the exchange of expertise and knowledge, which enhances its ability to reach new partners, build sustainable business relationships, and achieve qualitative performance that contributes to the growth of trade and investment between Dubai and global markets.”
Aim of the Memoranda
The MoUs aim to augment relations and support the development of broader commercial links. Notably, the agreement with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade – Chongqing Chamber focuses on promoting trade and investment activities, enhancing information exchange related to international exhibitions, business meetings, and events, and providing mutual support for participation in these activities.
