In a vibrant celebration of Emirati women, the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation in Dubai hosted an engaging event titled “An Inspiring Legacy… and Ambition that Shapes the Future” on Emirati Women’s Day 2026. This occasion marked a significant tribute to the impactful contributions of Emirati women in development and their role in building a more sustainable future, aligning with this year’s theme, “We Show Our Strength and Excellence.”
Empowering Activities and Workshops
The event featured a range of activities designed to enhance the presence of women and support their personal and professional aspirations. Participants engaged in various health-related initiatives aimed at raising awareness about health and quality of life, in collaboration with several medical centres and organisations. A highlight of the event was a main session titled “Balancing Work and Life: How Do We Create Balance?” presented by professional and personal development trainer Abeer Al-Matrooshi, who discussed the importance of balancing professional responsibilities with personal life and the skills necessary to establish a sustainable career path.
Creative Expression through Vision Boards
Attendees had the opportunity to articulate their visions and ambitions by creating “The Emirati Vision Board.” Each employee crafted a board reflecting her personal and professional goals using images, words, and visual elements inspired by her identity and journey. This activity epitomised the ambition and capacity of Emirati women to confidently shape their futures. The programme also included interactive workshops and booths focused on health, beauty, and fashion, as well as awards for guests and participating partners, showcasing the diversity of the programme across interactive, educational, and creative dimensions.
A Celebration of Achievements and Future Aspirations
Wafa Al-Shamsi, Chairwoman of the Women’s Committee at Awqaf Dubai, expressed that Emirati Women’s Day is a national occasion to celebrate the achievements of Emirati women. She affirmed their belief in women’s capabilities and their central role in sustainable development and national prosperity. “At Awqaf Dubai, we strive to provide a supportive and motivating environment for women, enabling them to develop their skills and turn their aspirations into tangible accomplishments, in line with the UAE’s vision of women’s empowerment and enhancing their participation in shaping the future,” she stated.
Al-Shamsi further extended her gratitude to Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the President of the UAE General Women’s Union and the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, for her unwavering support of Emirati women and their ambitions. “The allocation of a month to celebrate Emirati women is a testament to their stature and appreciation for their contributions, under a leadership that has faith in their abilities and has empowered them to participate, lead, and create an impact,” she added.
