The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) and the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority (ECMA) have cemented their commitment to sustainability and innovation within the aviation sector by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to enhance cooperation and coordination between the two entities, fostering strategic partnerships that align with Dubai’s ambitious environmental sustainability goals and civil aviation security measures.

Supporting Sustainable Development in Dubai

According to a press release issued yesterday, the MoU reflects both authorities’ dedication to supporting the visionary leadership of Dubai. It serves as a manifestation of Dubai’s strategic efforts to enhance sustainability, innovation, and institutional integration. The collaboration focuses on unifying efforts and sharing expertise to develop the civil aviation sector while advancing environmental sustainability and meeting the objectives of Dubai’s environmental and climate agenda.

A Commitment to Institutional Integration

Mohammed Abdullah Al Lingawi, Director General of the DCAA, stated, “The MoU with the ECMA embodies our steadfast commitment to enhancing institutional integration and unifying efforts to support the sustainability of the civil aviation sector. This is in harmony with Dubai’s future vision and its endeavours to build a safe and sustainable aviation system.”

He further emphasized that this partnership is a strategic advancement towards developing quality initiatives, sharing expertise, and adopting best practices in security, safety, and environmental protection. Ahamed Mohammed Bin Thani, Director General of the ECMA, highlighted the authority’s focus on creating an environmental work system based on science and data integration across sectors.
