In a significant step towards enhancing community engagement, the Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club concluded its “2026 Sports Volunteer Preparation Programme.” This event, marked by the recognition of participants, was held at the club’s headquarters, where attendees were awarded certificates for their contributions to the initiative aimed at training and preparing volunteers. The programme has seen notable interest from individuals eager to engage in volunteer work.
A Growing Interest in Volunteerism
Mr. Salem bin Hwaidin Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club, expressed his delight at the substantial turnout for volunteer registration, particularly from the youth of the central region and various cities across the UAE. He highlighted the active involvement of these young individuals in supporting national events and activities organised by the club, contributing effectively to the broader community within the Emirate of Sharjah.
Youth Engagement Is Key
Al Ketbi underscored the pivotal role of young volunteers in bolstering events and fostering a culture of volunteerism within society. He extended his gratitude to the UAE Scouts, the club’s volunteer youth, and those leading and coordinating volunteer efforts in the region.
Training for Future Success
The programme’s conclusion included a training workshop titled “Event Team Management and Effective Communication,” conducted in collaboration with the Athletes’ Association. This initiative aims to further promote the culture of sports volunteerism and community involvement, ensuring that participants are well-equipped to contribute meaningfully to future events.
