The celebration of the 54th National Day took place at the Cultural Symposium in Dubai, inaugurated by His Excellency Mohammed Al Mur, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, in the presence of several prominent figures, including Bilal Al Bodour, Chairman of the Symposium, Dr. Salah Al Qassim, and Jamal Al Khayat. Also in attendance were a select group of writers and intellectuals, enhancing the event’s significance within cultural circles.

Exhibition “54 Years United”

The festivities began with the opening of the art exhibition “54 Years United,” which featured a collection of artworks reflecting the journey of the union from creative and innovative perspectives, with the participation of 42 artists from the UAE. The artworks impressed the attendees, and His Excellency Mohammed Al Mur emphasized the importance of art as a means of cultural expression, stressing its role in promoting values of love and tolerance.

Artist Nora Suleiman Al Taher presented two works, while Abeer Al Shaibani showcased a painting depicting a tour of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan following the establishment of the union. The aesthetics of the arts were evident in the displayed paintings, where the works of Nadia Darwish and Khawla Al Hosani captured the attendees’ interest through their depictions of Arabian horses. Meanwhile, Nora Al Dhaheri’s painting titled “Ausha and Shamma” reflected old memories, showcasing the simplicity of life. This diversity in artistic works serves as a testament to the creativity of Emirati artists and their ability to express cultural heritage.

Musical Interaction and Scientific Heritage

Following the exhibition, a musical performance by the UAE Youth Symphony Orchestra, conducted by artist Riyad Qudsi, presented a selection of global pieces that delighted the audience. This musical aspect added another dimension to the celebration of the 54th National Day, reinforcing the value of the arts in national events.
