Marking a Milestone
The seminar coincided with the 50th anniversary of the unification of the armed forces, and was part of a month-long celebration led by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, known as the “Mother of the Nation.” She is the President of the UAE Gender Balance Council, Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and the Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation. This year’s theme, “We Show the Strongest and the Best,” encapsulated the spirit of empowerment and recognition.

From foundational military training to specialised roles with significant responsibilities, participants demonstrated their competencies and contributions to the defence framework, reflecting the support and empowerment they have received over the years.
Strategic Discussions on the Future
Key discussions focused on two primary topics: the involvement of women in shaping the future of national defence, and their role in developing future capabilities within the defence sector. Women leaders, military experts, and those with relevant experiences shared their insights on preparing the next generation of Emirati women for leadership roles in the sector.
Investing in Future Leaders
The objective of the discussions was to leverage past experiences and explore strategies for empowering women in the defence field. By enhancing their capabilities and expanding professional opportunities, the sessions aimed to equip them for the evolving challenges in the defence landscape.
Confirming Strong Presence
The contributions from participants showcased the active role of Emirati women in the national workforce, underscoring the importance of continued investment in their skills and talents. Such initiatives are essential for enhancing their contributions to both the present and future of the nation, aligning with the UAE’s aspirations for a robust and capable defence system poised for future demands.
