Strengthening Data Exchange Framework Between Abu Dhabi Customs and Abu Dhabi Quality
Abu Dhabi Customs and the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing cooperation in quality control and data exchange. This initiative is designed to foster integration among government efforts and form effective partnerships that solidify Abu Dhabi’s position as a global model for developing a flexible and attractive business environment that supports economic competitiveness.
The memorandum was signed by Obaid Muslim Al Amiri, acting Director General of Abu Dhabi Customs, and Eng. Abdullah Ahmed Al Yazeedi, acting Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council. This agreement underscores the commitment from both parties to strengthen collaboration and coordination, thereby reinforcing their strategic partnership.
Key Areas of Collaboration
The collaboration will establish a systematic framework for governance regarding the exchange of data and information between the two entities through approved electronic connectivity methods. This includes the exchange of foreign trade data at customs ports, which will support operational processes and decision-making. By facilitating this data exchange, the agreement aims to accelerate procedures, enhance the accuracy of product controls, and bolster the safety and compliance of traded goods with the established requirements.
Research and Development Initiatives
Additionally, the memorandum outlines plans for joint research and studies, as well as the provision of consulting services in related fields. The parties will also implement specialised training programmes and exchange technical expertise to elevate performance levels and enhance institutional readiness.
