Al Qasimia University recently commemorated the graduation of 113 students from 49 different nationalities, marking a significant milestone in its academic journey. Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, this momentous occasion celebrated the achievements of diverse graduates who represent the university’s commitment to educational excellence and cultural inclusivity.
The university celebrated the graduation of its tenth cohort for the fall semester of the 2026 academic year in an official ceremony held at the university’s theater in Sharjah. The number of graduates reached 113 students from 49 nationalities, representing the university’s five colleges: the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, the College of Arts and Humanities, the College of Economics and Management, the College of Communication, and the College of the Holy Quran.
The ceremony began with the national anthem of the United Arab Emirates, followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. His Excellency Professor Jamal Salem Al-Tarifi, President of Al Qasimia University, delivered a speech expressing profound gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi for his continuous and unwavering support of the university. He affirmed that the university’s achievements today are the result of the wise vision and solid foundation laid by His Highness, as well as his ongoing patronage of its educational and scientific journey.
Professor Jamal Salem Al-Tarifi emphasized that the graduation of this new cohort embodies the outcome of a solid scientific and humanitarian vision that has made human development a central focus of sustainable development. He clarified that this achievement is not merely an academic milestone but represents the culmination of a comprehensive journey that integrates deep knowledge formation with ethical and moral training.
Al-Tarifi pointed out that Al Qasimia University has successfully established a balanced educational model, thanks to the continuous support of its founder, which combines scientific authenticity with the demands of the modern era. This model promotes a culture of moderation, tolerance, and openness to others, contributing to the preparation of graduates who possess awareness, responsibility, and the ability to make positive contributions to their communities.
The university president added that Al Qasimia is committed to providing an academic environment that fosters excellence and innovation, contributing to the intellectual, scientific, and moral development of students, so that its graduates become ambassadors of knowledge and noble human values, carrying the university’s message of spreading knowledge and building bridges of cultural communication between peoples and cultures.
For his part, Professor Dr. Awad Al-Khalaf, Director of Al Qasimia University, expressed his pride and appreciation for the graduation of the tenth cohort of students. He affirmed that the university has successfully established its position as a globally recognized educational institution in just one decade. This has been achieved through the adoption of modern academic programs, including the launch of graduate programs such as the Master’s in Jurisprudence and its Principles, and the Master’s in Arabic Language and Literature, in addition to specialized training programs in Islamic architecture and the graduation of successive cohorts from the Professional Certificate in Islamic Banking program.
Al-Khalaf noted that these efforts, along with the university receiving the Outstanding Community Contribution Award from the British Accreditation Agency (ASIC) and the achievements of its students in Quran memorization competitions and sports championships, have contributed to enhancing the university’s academic standing.
Dr. Al-Khalaf pointed out that the university continues its journey steadily towards further development and excellence, drawing inspiration from the guidance and support of its founder, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and the founder of Al Qasimia University—may God protect and bless him.
He indicated that during the current academic year, the university has made notable progress in the fields of education, scientific research, and community service, attracting students from various countries around the world belonging to 136 nationalities, reflecting the growing trust in its mission, academic programs, and multicultural educational environment.
Al-Khalaf added that the university has strengthened its community and academic presence by launching joint training programs to prepare students for the labor market and expanding its network of partnerships by signing several memorandums of understanding locally, regionally, and internationally with prestigious academic and educational institutions. This has contributed to expanding institutional cooperation and solidifying the university’s position on both regional and international levels.
