In a lively and energetic atmosphere, نادي الذيد has officially launched its summer program “صيف الشارقة الرياضي – عطلتنا غير,” aimed at offering educational activities that cater to children and youths. This initiative, organized under the auspices of the Sharjah Sports Council, has drawn significant participation from local families, showcasing the community’s enthusiasm for enriching summer experiences. The program’s primary goal is to optimize free time during the summer break, aligning with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, focusing on nurturing future generations while providing a safe and stimulating environment that enhances their skills and capabilities.
Welcoming Participants and Engaging Activities
The program’s launch was marked by the presence of key figures, including His Excellency Malik Musbah Al Kutbi, Chairman of the Marketing and Investment Committee, and His Excellency Saif bin Dilwan Al Kutbi, Chairman of the Planning and Institutional Excellence Committee. They joined Mr. Mahir Obaid Al Khaili Al Tanejhi, the executive director of the club, along with numerous supervisors and organizers, all eager to witness the event. Parents expressed their pride in the meticulous organization and engaging activities provided for their children.
The day began with participants being welcomed and organized into groups, overseen by qualified supervisors and skilled trainers. Following this, a nutritious breakfast was served, and specially designed clothing for the program was distributed, all conducted with impressive order and readiness by the team.
A Rich Educational Experience
The opening ceremony featured the national anthem of the United Arab Emirates, followed by a blessed reading from the Holy Quran. Mr. Mahir Obaid Al Khaili Al Tanejhi welcomed the attendees, expressing pride in the summer program’s launch. He emphasized that this year’s offerings include a wide variety of training workshops, awareness lectures, and educational activities focusing on innovation and artificial intelligence, alongside sports, entertainment, and scientific and cultural trips. There are also special workshops dedicated to Emirati traditions designed to enhance national identity and instill genuine values in participants.
The event featured exciting segments of traditional Emirati games, such as “tug of war,” and a series of physical and interactive competitions that received a lively response from participants, all within a fun social atmosphere that cultivates teamwork and collaboration.

His Excellency Salem Mohammed bin Huwidan Al Kutbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of نادي الذيد, stated that this year’s summer program embodies the club’s vision to prepare youth to become active members of their communities. It reflects the commitment of نادي الذيد to implement the vision of the Sharjah Sports Council, rooted in the noble directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, emphasizing the importance of nurturing children and developing their skills across various physical, mental, and social aspects.
He pointed out that the club is dedicated to offering a rich summer experience that combines enjoyment with educational value, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for participants. The program will run until July 31, 2025, featuring daily morning activities that align with children’s and youths’ interests, opening broad avenues for creativity, exploration, and active community participation — making “عطلتنا غير” a successful summer model in the Emirate of Sharjah.
