Ajman Executive Committee Approves New Human Resources Law Framework

Under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Head of the Executive Council, the Ajman Executive Council has officially adopted the general principles for the development of the Human Resources Law for the Ajman Government. This strategic initiative aims to align government work policies with the objectives of Ajman Vision 2030, enhancing the quality of life for government employees and their families while fostering an attractive institutional environment that balances work and life.

Key Developments from the Executive Council Meeting

This decision was made during a session of the Ajman Executive Council, presided over by His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humid Al Nuaimi, as part of the annual meetings of the UAE Government 2025 in Abu Dhabi. The newly adopted framework reflects a modern approach to governance in Ajman, emphasizing the importance of employee welfare and work-life balance.

Comprehensive Family Leave System

The proposed project introduces an extensive family leave system designed to support families and parents. This includes provisions for parental leave, marriage leave, and bereavement leave, alongside caregiving options for children and first-degree relatives. Additionally, the framework allows for flexible working hours for pregnant employees and for those parents who are responsible for five or more children. This initiative is expected to reinforce family bonds while addressing the nuances of work and social life.

Flexible Working Models

The new law embraces flexible working patterns that cater to the requirements of government entities and job roles. Employees will now have the opportunity to work flexible weekly hours without being tied to predetermined daily schedules. Furthermore, the framework allows for remote working arrangements, both within the country and abroad, ensuring increased productivity and job satisfaction while fostering a sustainable work culture.

Inclusivity for People of Determination

A significant focus of the project is to create an inclusive work environment for people of determination. Government entities will be mandated to provide well-equipped workplaces and necessary aids to facilitate employees in performing their duties. The law will also reduce daily work hours for individuals with disabilities and safeguard them from termination due to permanent health conditions present at the time of hiring.

Cultivating a Quality of Life Culture

Moreover, the project underscores the importance of establishing a culture that prioritizes quality of life within the workplace. This initiative is expected to promote mental well-being among employees, elevate happiness and satisfaction levels, and ultimately create a positive and sustainable work environment.

Through the adoption of these principles under the leadership of Sheikh Ammar bin Humid, the Ajman Executive Council aims to set a precedent in public sector employment practices that prioritize the well-being of employees and their families, embodying a progressive vision for future governance.
