They emphasized that adherence to laws and regulations is vital for maintaining public safety, helping to avoid behaviors that could endanger lives and property.
Enhancing Security and Traffic Flow
The Abu Dhabi Police stressed that legally organizing events significantly contributes to enhancing security and traffic flow. They also urged community members to cooperate and report any practices that violate this awareness and social responsibility. Maintaining order is essential to ensure the safety of everyone during such events.
Traffic Violation Penalties
The Traffic and Patrols Directorate of the Abu Dhabi Police clarified the dangers of holding spontaneous marches and gatherings on roads. Actions such as leaning out of vehicle windows or sunroofs are considered traffic violations. In accordance with Article 1 of the Traffic Law, driving in a manner that endangers others’ lives can result in penalties of up to 2,000 dirhams and 23 traffic points, as well as the impounding of the vehicle for 60 days. Additionally, Article 94 of the Federal Traffic Law stipulates that driving vehicles in marches without a permit incurs a fine of 500 dirhams and 4 traffic points, along with a 15-day vehicle impoundment for light vehicles.
Through these initiatives, the Abu Dhabi Police have demonstrated their commitment to creating a safe environment for everyone. Therefore, individuals are strongly urged not to hold any celebratory marches without prior organization to ensure safe and enjoyable celebrations for all members of the community.
